Well Worth It's Weight.

Bring a little British heritage into your home with this beautifully aged Salter Family Scale No. 45, made in West Bromwich by the iconic George Salter & Co. With its ornate cast‑iron frame, brass weighing pan, and softly worn dial, it’s a lovely example of the everyday craftsmanship that made Salter a household name for over 260 years.

Once a hardworking kitchen companion, it now makes a characterful display piece—perfect for a rustic shelf, pantry styling, shop décor, or as a prop for food photography. The scale sits solidly, has gorgeous patina throughout, and brings that authentic “lived‑in” charm only real vintage can offer.

A wonderful piece of British industrial history, ready to be enjoyed again.

Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson Oak Cheeseboard

Circa 1950s–70s

A beautifully crafted vintage oak cheeseboard from the workshop of Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson, featuring the signature carved mouse in crisp, high‑relief detail on the handle. The mouse is particularly expressive, with well‑defined ears, snout, whiskers and tail — a hallmark of mid‑century carving.

The board has developed a warm, even patina and shows only light, sympathetic use. The reverse is hand‑finished, consistent with earlier workshop production, and the surface displays attractive medullary rays in the grain.

A lovely, characterful example in very good condition. A desirable piece for collectors of Mouseman and Yorkshire oak craftsmanship, or a charming addition to any kitchen or dining setting.

Pressed To Impress.
£36.00

This characterful late 19th–early 20th century cast‑iron clothes iron has lived a long, hardworking life — and somewhere along the way, in the 1920s, someone loved it enough to decorate it by hand. The bright folk‑art florals along the handle and base turn a once‑everyday tool into something joyful, personal, and full of charm.

Solid, weighty, and beautifully unique, it now makes a brilliant doorstop, a sturdy bookend, or a colourful display piece for any cottage‑core or vintage‑inspired space. A lovely reminder that even the most practical objects were treasured, used, and made beautiful.
